Stretch Goals Afoot!
over 5 years ago – Tue, Nov 20, 2018 at 02:38:27 PM

So it looks like we will for sure be adding 5 new Squire Cards to Guardians of Wayword!

These five Squires have specialties not known to most, and were covered in Update #2.

So, when clarifying comments, I was off a bit. The added cards are for the core game of Guardians. This means it adds a whopping 24 cards to the game! Another great way to help is remember the high quality, stitched Playmat we have available by adding 30$ to your pledge :D

Now some updates on the social goals going into the final day below :D

So close on these and we want em! So we have 1 more day to get these done :D Make it happen fellow Guardians :D

Final 48 Hours are here!
over 5 years ago – Mon, Nov 19, 2018 at 01:31:30 PM

While have funded, there is more work to do! The first stretch goal below details how we can better train the guild squires of Wayword. But we are revealing the 2nd stretch goal as we rush into the final push!

We have a 2nd set of the Loadout Cards that's literally 2x the options for building loadouts! Combinations that previously made little sense, now work perfectly! Here is an example of how the Loadout cards can differ, first is the Dana from the Core Set.

So you can see the Quick Draw and blanket Toughness reduction she has? Now Loadout #2!

While she still costs the same and has quick draw, then her die is played, she may advance or retreat a threat 1 space. Then at her lower levels, she gains attack against Threats in the Terraplain or Darkmarsh sections of the board!

We will be updating the Social Stretch Goal Meters late this evening on the main page and in the next update, but we are very close on the Kicktraq unique visitors and creeping towards the others :D

Our Quest Continues!
over 5 years ago – Fri, Nov 16, 2018 at 01:36:08 PM

If we stay on the current trajectory, this project is moving forward, full steam ahead! And just like you, more people will hopefully join the call to help protect Wayword. The Council and Guilds of Wayword have convened, and they have decided that should we be able to his the following funding total, they will begin putting more into training their squires.

While these don't add more dice per say, they fundamentally alter each players starting dice. We covered the 5 powers specifically in THIS Update.

We also have another report from the front lines for you to watch :D

This time Ben and Chris had to fight Dracula and his minions off, as they tried to assault Wayword.

Social Goal Updates

Here is an update on our Social Goals. And while some may seem out of reach, we believe in you! And if they don't show up now, they may at another point in Waywords History.

More Stretch Goals

There are more Stretch Goals and we will reveal them as we get closer to the final 48 Hours and the first Stretch Goal gets closer, but feel free to sound off what you are looking for in the comments below!

Card Previews!

They were promised and here is one such Loadout Preview,

Olive is a powerhouse Champion for any player! While she gives little to no recruit, her attack and draw power is stunning. When any die is KO'd, yours or an ally's die, she may level up! Though not as powerful, the 1st and 2nd Level of her die allows her to recruit a Spell Die with a cost of equal or lesser value than the total number of KO'd dice.

Jack Carpenter is an economy Champion, with dual Recruit generation and the ability to early game, chain some amazing combos! As games wane, you will need that bag control to maximize his strikes. Jack is also able to defeat Minions even at Level 1.

Dais Flacc and his trusty companion also offer dual Recruit. They are a cheaper Champion that scales up Levels as Events pop out from the Threat Deck, though at Level 1 and 2, has a trade off of being protected from being KO'd.

Potion of Change is an expensive Item to get, but when you do, things start rolling! When played in conjunction with say Daiss or Northren Mail, you can Level Up dice to the desired level :D On top of that, the usage at any level can give another die up to 3 Attack, while being 3/3/5 Attack in its own right.

Northren Mail has solid Recruit generation, but can also be discarded to prevent the effects of any given Threat. At the 2nd and 3rd Level, the ability to discard the die after revealing your Threats, and draw 2. This is useful when you find yourself not needing the recruit or discard effect, but rather the Olive or Jack die you know is in your bag!

Finally we get to Clairvoyance! This is powerful early on for sure. It gives some of the most powerful draw and Recruit, while mitigating the things you get/need as you spend it. Revealing 3 dice, picking and rolling 1 into your pool is powerful, as this then lets you discard the other 2. When at the 2nd and 3rd level, changing a die to ANY face can be exactly what is needed to take down the big bad!

We hope you all enjoyed that preview :D More in the next update!

Big time update!
over 5 years ago – Tue, Nov 13, 2018 at 12:29:03 PM

So before game news, how about another Review for Guardians of Wayword? Check out Lance's video on Guardians of Wayword and let us know what you think!

Lance gets into the difficulty, the variability and interactivity of the game and we couldn't be happier with his words!

So did that do anything for you $1 Backers?

If every one of our $1 Backers upped their pledge to even the basic pledge level, we would be funded :D If you are considering doing so, we would absolutely appreciate that.

Play Through

Here is another Play Through the guys put together for you, this time against a new big bad in these videos, Eclipse!

Getting into the final countdown

We have less than 10% to go for funding, and we think we can do this! Every day has been positive and we are so close. If some of our $1 Backers show up with higher pledges and some new folks come in from your all sharing and spreading the word, we are confident we got this!

Below, for all the AMAZING work you all are doing for us, we have updated our social goals! Please take time to check them out, and head to the main page to get involved with them :D

Guardians gets an add-on!
over 5 years ago – Sun, Nov 11, 2018 at 03:17:26 PM

When we first started showing our play mats, our goal was to, even from a demo perspective, we wanted quality. We look to companies like Chip Theory Games and want to emulate that quality with our own mats. So with that we want to add the following to the campaign for our Backers!

As you see in those details, our play mat for the main board, which is stitched around the edges. If you missed how even the early board looked as a mat, you can see Tom Vasel's thoughts in the Showcase at Origins 2018 :D

Aside from that, here is an update on the Social Stretch Goals. Great work and keep it up! With a few more weeks of the campaign left, keep up the amazing work.
