September Update

Hello fellow Guardians!
We were informed this month after a delay in their queue that a sample run of all of the Guardians dice were being made by the new manufacturer, We had some inquiries from you all about why we were further back in the queue and we thought that might have needed more clarification.
When we approach a new dice manufacturer we have never worked with to make dice for a game we are making a Minimum Order Quantity of games, we are considered less of a priority than the companies they have worked with that order multiple times as well. They think of us as one time customers until we aren't. It wasn't personal, just the manner these manufacturers approach these issues.
We were told by our factory that their goal was to try and have everything packed by the end of the year currently. We will let you know as that takes shape! We have seen and approved of everything outside of the dice and are housing playmats (laid flat for now) until these begin shipping :D

Hello fellow Guardians!
With some catch up for most manufacturers, currently we are waiting to see some of the new dice. While we think we have a Dice Manufacturer that fits our price. Given the scope of our backer count vs other projects they have in the queue, we were not their first priority unfortunately. We should have more substantial news about them next month, but all the reworked images passed their approval on the first pass, so no edits to be made to them is encouraging!
Some of you have also expressed not getting updates. Wanted to address that for a quick minute. We have double checked through our Pledge Manager and every update has been and gets emailed out through that. As for Kickstarter. I would ask that everyone make sure they have checked their Spam folders. 1 Backer messaged us to let us know his Kickstarter Updates had been going to his Spam box. If not, at this time, know we update 1 time per month, unless we have exciting news, it's generally at the end of the month. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you but know we are working to resolve it :D

We have received quotes back and forth for our dice manufacturers but as anyone paying attention to the news saw, there was a good deal of flooding in China that slowed down many manufacturers, as well as a 3rd wave of the COVID.
That said, we believe we have opted for our manufacturer to use another contracted manufacturer to make the dice. They were more than happy to work at sending multiple samples of printed dice for future projects, as well as their tooling on engraved dice so we could check their fill quality.
Even when taking a hobby knife to the fill, it remains solid and very clear. We are happy with both the quality and balance of the dice, as well as the fill.
Balance of the die is obviously important because in terms of gameplay, the feel of buying a powerful Champion to only ever roll resources would be devastating. On top of that, you can see the vibrancy of the dice they manufacture and we could not be more thrilled about it.
We were also allowed a preview of printed dice so that as well was thrilling!
We hope to be moving forward now as we work out the pricing and begin wrapping the dice as soon as possible. We thank you all for staying safe, staying patient and we cannot wait to show more!
June Update

Hello fellow Guardians!
As noted in the previous update, we were sent dice from 3 manufacturers. 2 of the 3 had superior quality dice. We felt 1 was eliminated during a QA check that allowed us to ding the dice they sent fairly easily. The other two however we have asked for quotes from. As the quality was fairly equitable between the two, the hope is that by asking for quotes from both, we can gain the best one and move forward swiftly. Expect July's Update, as shipping begins to even out a little more, as China contains their 2nd outbreak and as we are allowed to get back to work, to be bigger, more substantial and have something amazing in it for you.

Right now we feel like we have been in a holding pattern since March.
That said, our manufacturer has attempted to procure a new dice manufacturer, they have sent us 3 dice samples from 3 different ones. They should be here in the first 7-9 days of June. The hope is, when we settle on one of them, they will help us negotiate pricing with them, as our available funds are limited, the understand this and are doing their best.
Some of you reached out and asked why the dice were not made at our factory. Our factory outsourced the dice because they do figures that are prepainted. We used them, with the hope that by developing a relationship, we could do something prepainted with them given the quality.
When a factory assembles dice, of any kind, the dust from said dice can affect the figures paint runs. We will keep you posted on this in the next update.
Obviously, we teased a ton of expansion stuff we have in mind for the game, so not releasing it yet is killing us in more ways than one. We want the game to be out, be reviewed, be played, but we also know this is a game that is 90% dice and this unforeseen circumstance is troubling for all to say the least.
